DVDRUN3N

My name is Dave.  I go by the gamer tag DVDRUN3N (dv-droo-nen), or simply the nickname DVD.

I have been part of the Earth 2 community since January 8, 2021.  I have also been more invested in D.R.O.N.E the Game since one of the original developers of Earth2 was also a developer of this game.  Earth2 has since purchased the company and game and is using the team to advance the Earth2 platform.

I am not a huge gamer or Metaverse lover, but I appreciate having some fun and community.  There seems to be a large potential for creativity within Earth2, and even the DRONE game has the ability to build ships and arenas (not in a fully functioning state at the moment though).  Creativity is something that drives me, though it also burdens me if I allow it to consume me.

Life is about balance in all things, and the Metaverse will certainly need to be utilized with some sense of balance.  I see the massive potential for the Metaverse to become a new addiction and a place for people to withdraw to in unhealthy ways, but I also see the massive potential for great community and new experiences and creativity that cannot be found anywhere else.  I hope I can participate in this Earth2 project and be able to create something fun and interesting for my family, but I need to be aware of the balance of keeping the family strong and not throwing too much of my own time into it or even allowing them to put in unhealthy amounts of time into it.  I hope to be able to learn how the future my kids will grow up in will be so that it is not so much a surprise.  I may still fail at guiding them through it, but I still believe it is worth the effort.

I grew up doing landscaping and have always had a love and respect for the natural world and its beauty.  Hiking was a massive passion at one point in my life and it's something I intend to do more of again.  Spending time at home on the computer working on games or graphics takes time away from the mental and emotional healing I experience from being out in nature and is a balance I am still working on figuring out.

My family is extremely important to me; the biggest challenge in my life is matching the person I want to be with the person that I am.  I want to thank my beautiful wife for being by my side over the years, and raising three crazy and amazing children.  I also want to thank God for blessing me more than I deserve, I always fail to give recognition to the highest power of life because I have so many tainted memories and jaded perspectives of God and faith related topic...but I cannot deny seeing a guiding hand through life and owe a credit to the Spirit that works in us, through us and around us.
